Benefits of Using Polygon Network

  • Low gas fees of $0.001 or less
  • Fast transaction speeds
  • Compatible with The Sandbox, TCG World, and many more metaverses
  • Accepted on OpenSea
  • Growing a die-hard community of developers
  • Accepts solidity smart contracts
  • and more

Step 1

INSTALL METAMASK – Make sure that you install Metamask on your computer or mobile device. Feel free to skip the next part if you already have Metamask set up. (for pc https://metamask.io/ and for mobile directly on the app store) – Simply follow the instructions to create your wallet, be careful, write your seed phrase and store it in a safe place.

Refer to this video for the best way to preserve your seed phrase. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Aj_EHOu9WE

Ok well done, you have your wallet.

IMPORTANT: Coinbase wallet won’t work with our minting dapp!

Step 2

ADD POLYGON NETWORK

(video of how to do this step: https://youtu.be/gs3-dxgOkWo)

– Go on settings in MetaMask

– Find the section NETWORK and ADD NETWORK

Network name: Polygon Mainnet
RPC URL: https://rpc-mainnet.maticvigil.com/
CHAIN ID: 137
Currency Symbol: MATIC
Block Explorer: https://polygonscan.com/

If you are experiencing issues you might need to use a different RPC URL. Below are a few different options for you to test.

(you can also go here: https://chainlist.org/ search polygon mainnet and add to metamask)

Step 3

SEND FUNDS TO YOUR WALLET

– 2 ways to do it:

Option 1) From an Exchange

or

Option 2) From another network

FROM an EXCHANGE

You can use Crypto.com, Gate.io, or Kucoin (we advise using Crypto.com for the lowest fees). Those three support the Polygon Network, don’t use COINBASE, you will be forced to use ETH network .. we don’t recommend it (high tax and very tricky to send Matic to the right network)

Here is a video on how to do this: https://youtu.be/6rvuH5h61Gc

From the Exchange, send MATIC to your Metamask address, be careful to select the network POLYGON and that’s it, send and you will see your funds in your Metamask wallet (can take 1-15 minutes to arrive)

From another Network

There is something called a Bridge that allows you to send assets from one blockchain to another.

Here is a video showing you how to bridge from Ethereum network to Polygon Network: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2LBdse6H_ZA

If you want to bridge from Ethereum to Polygon, I recommend to be very careful with gas, it can be better to send your ETH to an Exchange (Binance, crypto.com, or Kucoin) and follow the explication above. At the moment, for a bridge it cost like $100 worth of gas…

If you still want to bridge from Ethereum Network to Polygon Network then then use one of the following bridges:
https://bridge.umbria.network/bridge/
https://cbridge.celer.network/#/transfer
https://anyswap.exchange/bridge#/
https://wallet.polygon.technology/ (Our favorite)

tip: Don’t forget to import eth token in your wallet to see them, here is the contract: https://polygonscan.com/token/0x7ceb23fd6bc0add59e62ac25578270cff1b9f619

from BSC to Polygon (video how to do this: https://youtu.be/ok-ZooXcHhM)

https://anyswap.exchange/bridge#/router
https://www.xpollinate.io/?fromChain=56&fromToken=0x8ac76a51cc950d9822d68b83fe1ad97b32cd580d&toChain=100&toToken=0xddafbb505ad214d7b80b1f830fccc89b60fb7a83

After you have bridged your cryptocurrency from a different Network to the Matic Network, you will need to go to https://app.apeswap.finance/swap and exchange the cryptocurrency you bridged, for MATIC token.

At this time, you have a Metamask wallet with polygon and some Matic on it. (Be sure that is POLYGON network is selected on the top of Metamask, by default it’s on the Ethereum network)
